Northern Lights In Alaska 2020. Chena Hot Springs & Ice Museum

In this Episode we travel north to Fairbanks, Alaska in search of the Northern Lights. We headed to Chena Hot Springs which is about an hour drive from Fairbanks. The Chena Hot Springs and Ice Museum are an awesome getaway and chance to view the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. The Hot Springs are a wonderful experience, especially in the late fall or winter months. The dark nights are perfect for viewing the Northern Lights. The New van conversion worked great at the 9 degree temps. The new fallen snow added a great addition to the experience for great photo and video shots. Walking through the Ice Museum and trying an apple vodka was a treat. Wandering over past the log cabin buildings and stopping to relax for a long soak in the Hot Springs with the surrounding snow was truely memorable.

The highlight of the trip testing the new Van Build was viewing the Northern Lights at 9 degrees. The experience was a once in a lifetime, as the Northern lights are always different each time you view them. The ever changing colors and shapes can be photographed with your Iphone with the use of a tripod. A drive past Denali National Park at the beginning of the oncoming snows is surreal. Visiting the small town of Talkeetna was a nice stop over to view the shops and local life. The nearby river was flowing with ice as it was preparing for the winter months not far away.
