How to get any type of Chao:

There is a principle to all types of Chao. There are 5 different types (Normal, Swim, Fly, Run & Power). A Chao goes through 2 evolution processes. The first is when a Chao goes from a child to an adult; it will go into a blue and yellow cocoon. The second is a gradual process that happens over a period of time and it doesn't go into a cocoon.

When a Chao evolves for the first time, it will evolve into a specific type. The type it is depends on its stat influences. Between 10-20 Chaos drives of one colour is enough for the Chao to evolve into the corresponding type (Yellow = Swim, Purple = Fly, Green = Run & Power = Red). Between 5 and 10 animals of one colour is enough for it to evolve into the corresponding type (same as before). To get a normal type, either always make sure you have fed it an even number of each coloured animal/chaos drive or don't give it any animals/chaos drives at all (the latter is the easier option).

The same applies for its second evolution (after it has cocooned). The difference is double the amount of animals/Chaos drives is required. So 40 chaos drives or 20 animals of one colour is required for it to become the corresponding type for its second evolution.

After that, all that is required is for your Chao to actually fully grow. 2 variables effect a Chao's growth; 1 is time and the other is fruits (the normal garden fruits are best because they are free). Meaning you can either wait until a Chao fully grows (it takes about 9-12 hours). Or, you can just keep feeding it fruits over and over (this can take as little as 2-3 hours and your stamina stat will be lvl 99).
