The gear is getting better and so is our riding experience.
My latest board has surprised me, got me instantly a few levels higher. I'm not totally sure what the most important factor is, but this board is not like anything I have made or tried before.
6 foot long, only 17 inches wide and 4 inches thick, it only has 55l of volume. But it is easy to get on to and shoots up on foil even with minimal pressure in the wing. Well, for me, at 72kg. Also the light weight of 3,2kg may be important. Once on foil, the board feels so under control, balanced and lively, hard to believe it is 6' long.
Together with the Frigate parawing and Eagle X1000 foil, it's all smooth and fast.
Now I don't see a reason to get on an 8' board with a paddle, just less fun.
