The best video I could find on this instrument after watching many, and a nice answer to the earlier posted Semantron video ,so enjoy!! Txalaparta today is a musical instrument used in Basque music. It is classified as an idiophone (a percussion instrument) made out of wood or stone. In its traditional construction (known as the txalaparta zaharra) the txalaparta is made of a pair of long wooden boards held up horizontally and then beaten vertically with thick sticks held upright in the hands.
