Villars-sur-Ollon is a town and winter sports resort in the municipality of Ollon. It is located in the Vaud Pre-Alps in Switzerland.

A tourist resort
The village of the resort is located at 1,258 meters above sea level on a natural balcony facing south, in the heart of the Vaud Alps. It is located almost 900 meters above the Rhone Valley. It is reached by a mountain road, 15 kilometers long, from Aigle or, since 1901, by the BVB train line from Bex and also serving Gryon.

Winter sports
The Ski-Club Chamossaire, founded in 1920, today Ski-Club Villars, has always been a nursery of champions. It counts in its ranks several generations: Henri Ruchet, Charles Tuor and Jean Dormond for the years 1930-40, Roger Gysin and Olivia Ausoni for the years 1940-55, Jean-Daniel Dätwyler and Michel Dätwyler for the years 1960-70, Céline Dätwyler and Annick Bonzon for the years 1990-2000.

A ski resort
The Ski Area of Villars-sur-Ollon is connected to the Ski Areas of Gryon-Meilleret-Isenau-Glacier 30004, which allows them to offer 100 km of slopes and 34 ski lift facilities5. It is also possible to go cross-country skiing, ski touring and other snow sports such as snowshoe excursions6.

It should also be noted that the Villars-Gryon ski area will host the skicross events of the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games, which will take place from 10 to 19 January 2020.

Ice hockey
Villars also has a historic ice hockey club, HC Villars9. This club was Champion of Switzerland 1962-1963/1963-1964. In 2016-2017, the club will play in the 1st league, next season10. "With an average of 1,700 spectators in the final, [Villars Hockey Club] will leave for a new season with new ambitions. »11. This club has a fan's Club founded in 198112. In order to ensure the next generation, the Villars Hockey Club offers this sport to many age groups13 either: Junior Top, Mini A, Mosquitos B, Piccolos, Hockey School & Bambinis as well as a Goalkeeper School. As for the Junior Top movement, it "is gradually being structured with the arrival of HC Red-Ice and HC Monthey-Chablais [and] a collaboration agreement has been signed, this [updating] the very good collaboration between the clubs of Chablais [Vaudois, Valais] and Lower Valais »

On the road to cycling tours
The climb to Villars-sur-Ollon welcomed the finish of the 3rd stage of the Tour de Romandie 2016. Once is not custom, Christopher Froome won this stage-queen in breakaway, resisting the return of the group of Nairo Quintana, himself neutralizing the attacks of Romain Bardet and Thibaut Pinot. Then the resort was at the finish of the 4th stage of the Tour de Suisse 2017 with a finish classified out of category. It was Lawrence Warbasse, who had escaped from the beginning of the stage, who took the victory while Damiano Caruso took the yellow jersey.
