Glan Llyn is Newport's newest housing estate. It's built on land which was once occupied by Llanwern steel works. Work began on the first phase of homes around 10 years ago, but the site has grown rapidly in the last 5 years. It's estimated that over 4000 new homes will be built on the site within the next 10 to 15 years. The site is reportedly popular with people from the West of England, due to cheaper house prices in south-east Wales.
