Stalingrad Diorama 1/72 – KV-1 Tank and the Barmaley Fountain
This video showcases the full process of building a 1/72 scale diorama set in the Battle of Stalingrad. At the center is a Soviet KV-1 heavy tank from Trumpeter, surrounded by Orion tank crew figures. Special attention was paid to detailing — many miniature furniture elements were scratch-built by hand, adding a personal and unique touch to the scene.

One of the highlights of this diorama is the recreation of the iconic “Barmaley” fountain — a well-known Soviet sculpture of children dancing around a crocodile, famously captured in photos amidst the ruins of Stalingrad in 1942. The contrast between war and innocence is deeply symbolic and adds historical depth to the scene. All painting and weathering techniques were applied with accuracy and care, aiming to reflect the atmosphere of the Eastern Front.
