पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री खालिदा जिया के बेटे तारिक रहमान 17 साल बाद देश लौटे हैं. तारिक रहमान के वेलकम के लिए लाखों लोगों की भीड़ ढाका की सड़कों पर उतरी. बांग्लादेश में अगले साल 12 फरवरी को आम चुनाव होने हैं. शेख हसीना की पार्टी अवामी लीग को बैन कर दिया गया है. ऐसे में बांग्लादेशी नेशनलिस्ट पार्टी (BNP) चुनाव जीतने की सबसे बड़ी दावेदार है. BNP की अध्यक्ष खालिदा जिया की उम्र 80 साल हो चुकी है और बहुत बीमार चल रही हैं. ऐसे में माना जा रहा है कि रहमान अगले PM के दावेदार हो सकते हैं.
