I remember sitting tuning the bands listening to VOA, BBC and Deutche Welle amongst others. This tiny little self contained receiver does as well as my Icom IC7300 (using an external antenna) and the SSB reception is excellent.
The receiver receives MW, LW, FM and 1.8 to 30 MHz in FM, AM or SSB mode. The ATS - 20 has a built in speaker and battery and the telescopic antenna which is included plugs onto a BNC on the back.
The main dial activates the BFO or clarifier and together with the AGC, adjustable bandwidth and selectable tuniing steps is all you could ask for or need.
This is great for the shack or your field station or even great for a camping trip.
This is a great gift for a radio enthusiast in a retirement village or anyone interested in radio and shortwave.
