Family Donates Cuddle Cot in Memory of Baby Bonnie

In a touching tribute to their daughter Bonnie, who sadly passed away in December 2024, the Haswell family has donated a Cuddle Cot to the Maternity Unit at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
The donation, presented by Stephanie Haswell and her sister Kimberly, was made possible through family fundraising and also included a Smart TV and gifts for ward staff, as a thank-you for the compassionate care they received.
Stephanie explained how the Cuddle Cot gave her family precious time with Bonnie, helping them to create memories and say goodbye at their own pace. “It meant so much to us, and we hope it brings comfort to other families in the same way it did for ours,” she said.
The Cuddle Cot, provided in partnership with baby loss charity 4Louis, allows grieving families more time with their baby either in hospital or at home.
Jenna Goat, Specialist Midwife for Bereavement Care, expressed gratitude for the donation: “This gift will make a lasting difference for families experiencing the loss of a baby, and we are honoured to help carry Bonnie’s legacy forward.”
The Haswell family say the donation is their way of giving back and ensuring Bonnie’s memory lives on.
