Deoiridh, the Scottish Gaelic word for a tearful person, sings about the process of facing algiacusis, a painful hearing disease from the point of view of the musician. The song remains in a calm register, with subtle dissonances in harmony representing the sorrow and pain suffered, although the beauty of the melodies, representing hope, never fade out. It draws a scene of a continue journey from pain to hope and the other way around, a scene that is an allegory of our lives.
