Winter always pushes the most creativity for me. The quiet streets, snow under streetlights, and that nighttime drive where everything looks muted but feels more vivid. A lot of my best memories are tied to December, and that mood naturally shows up in the music.

The PS1 soundtrack era was a huge influence in winter too—most likely because Christmas meant new games as gifts, new worlds to get lost in, and those dark, emotional melodies looping while it snowed outside. That feeling stayed with me. Add in the hip hop I grew up on and still play now—from Nas and Wu-Tang to the current wave—and this tape becomes the overlap of all of it: winter nostalgia, cinematic grit, and soulful drumless production.

If I was producing for the artists that live in that lane, this is the exact type of tape I’d bring to the table first.
