Above ground forts have long been an alternative and wierd way to play Dwarf fortress, and if you've been here a while, you'll have seen me do it before, this time though the goal is not simply to build above ground, but to build rather a long way above it.

Dwarf fortress is basically the daddy of all colony management games, and whilst at times it can be frustrating and arcane, it's unparralelled in the depths of it's simulation.
