RAND() generates a random decimal (0 to 1), while RANDBETWEEN(bottom, top) gives a random whole number (integer) between bottom and top, inclusive, perfect for dice rolls (e.g., =RANDBETWEEN(1,6)) or sampling, but both are volatile and change on recalculation (F9). For more control in newer Excel, RANDARRAY()` can create arrays of decimals or integers in a range.
