Lesson observations don't have to feel like a test. With the right approach they can be developmental. Here are some ways to vary your approach to observation. The examples of observation forms are taken from my book 'A Practical Introduction to Teacher Training in ELT' (Pavilion ELT Publishing) and include an extract from an old Diploma in TESOL observation form previously used by Trinity exams (but no longer in print).
