Richard explains that the context for this move followed on from a move up on a Friday, to then consolidate and form a b-shaped market profile. Shorts had been driven out of the market while longs started to accumulate, but thereby created the potential structure for a head and shoulders reversal. A move back below the 52-54 area then held the possibility for panic selling as longs needed to exit their positions.

Replaying the price ladder shows how when the market finally approached the area, large offers appeared on the price ladder and remained heavy as sellers stacked their orders while chasing the market down. This is typical of a b-shaped day and is a pattern to lookout for in future market moves, especially in relation to the order flow.
