For many, The Supremes represent the pinnacle of Motown records, one of the first-along wth VeeJay records- black owned record labels.
Formed in 1958, the singing trio was originally a quartet, but Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Florence Ballard continued as a trio and in 1964 they scored their first number one.
The trio would remain a constant on both Pop and R&B chart.
