This is a play-through of the off-road track in Tatsumi's excellent three-screen arcade collect-em-up racing game "Buggy Boy". There is also a smaller/cheaper version of the arcade cab with just a single screen, but the way the scenery whizzes by on the two side screens, I think it's much more fun to play the three-screen version.
This game is being played in the MAME arcade emulator, using a SpinTrak spinner (housed in a home-made box) for the steering wheel. You wouldn't think using a spinner would make a huge amount of difference to a mouse but, IMHO, the game is so much more playable with a proper wheel of some kind.
There are five tracks in Buggy Boy: Off-road, North, South, East, and West. All the compass-name tracks have a start and an end point. Whereas the off-road track is a loop, and only finishes after you've gone around the loop several times.
In this race I do manage to complete the race, though I have set the dip-switches of the machine to the easiest opponents and the longest count-down time.
