Brothers | Award Winning Short Film

Two estranged brothers hike into the backwoods of England in the pursuit to reconnect with each other. However, when they face adverse conditions, will they be able to rely on each other and find a way out?

The film was made at Staffordshire University on the BA (Hons) Media (Film) Production module.

I've had the idea for the film since I was Seventeen in College. At the time I didn't feel ready to make the film. This was because I had very little experience in making films in a professional environment and also lacked the resources to make the film in they way I wanted. Three years later, on my final year at University I remembered this idea and with the industry standard equipment the University provided, decided to turn this idea into a film.

Score
The Brothers score has been made entirely out of foley sound. All material was sourced directly from the two locations we shot the film in: moel famau and new borough beach, Wales. Tom carefully collated all possible sounds that would be workable into the framework of the composition, allowing me to experiment with natural human pickups we got through the lav mics.
