Malampaya Access to Energy pilot project | Sustainability at Shell

DescriptionThe Batak people belong to more than 1.1 billion people globally who have no access to electricity. At night, they rely on light provided by burning wood wrapped in leaves. Now a new pilot social investment project combining solar energy and hydro power is bringing light to their homes deep in the forest of Palawan island. Watch how Shell Philippines, through the Pilipinas Shell Foundation, helped install a hybrid energy system to light homes and unlock opportunities for this community.
