How does humility touch the heart of God? What does it mean to approach Him with a genuine, lowly heart — and to be heard?
In this reflection for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year C), we explore how God responds to the humble, the sincere, the ones who know they need Him.
Readings
• From Sirach 35:12-14, 16-18: how the Lord is a God of justice who “hears the cry of the oppressed.”
• From Psalm 34:2-3, 17-18, 19, 23: how “the Lord hears the cry of the poor” and draws close to the brokenhearted.
• From 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18: how at the end of his life Paul trusted in God’s faithful rescue — a powerful example of humility in trial.
• From Luke 18:9-14: the story of the Pharisee and tax-collector — a clear picture: the one who exalts himself will be humbled, the one who humbles himself will be exalted.
Whether you’re feeling unworthy, overlooked, or weighed down by pride — this message is for you. Let’s invite God’s mercy by coming honestly and humbly before Him, and discover how truly He listens.
