How to Line Edit Your Writing: Step #1

This week, I started line edits on my YA contemporary manuscript, so I wanted to make a video sharing the way I start line editing after I finish editing for plot.

Line editing is the practice of editing the words, sentences, and paragraphs in your manuscript. I like to line edit with the goal of making my prose disappear into the story, so this first step is focused on noting things in my writing that jump out at me, pull me out of the story, or don't work to bring the story to life.

I suggest line editing after your plot and editing for character voice. You don't want to have to focus on the story when you're line editing. You only want to focus on the writing.
