2008 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring

The Triumph Rocket III Touring is the biggest, most bad-ass fully equipped production cruiser motorcycle money can buy. The specs are awesome this bike has a  2.3-litre engine producing almost 150ft lb of torque, pistons the same size as those found in a Dodge Viper supercar and what was at one time the biggest back tyre on a production bike… The Triumph Rocket III is simply an incredible experience.

This one in particular is the fully loaded 'Touring' model, this came standard with factory options such as factory hard quick release bags, factory quick release screen and this one in particular has an OEM sissy bar fitted. Also fitted with bluetooth amplified speakers as you can listen to your favourite tunes on those long journeys.

The R3 Touring gets an extra dollop of torque at even earlier revs than before. That translates to 154 ft/lbs @ 2,025rpm. In the process, Triumph has sacrificed a lot of peak horsepower. The Touring comes down from 141bhp to 107bhp @ 5.400rpm.

The massive low rpm torque gives clean drive in 5th gear even from 30mph. Entering towns, you can just stick to fifth and let the torque do the job. Reduced horsepower compared to the Rocket III or Rocket III Classic was never a problem. The Touring might be less of a red light racer, but it is still brutally fast if you want it to be. No other touring motorcycle has as much torque as the Rocket III Touring.

I actually purchased this one on my previous buying trip in Naples, Florida from its original 74 year old owner.

This chap babied this bike, it was garaged under a cover throughout and never ridden whilst wet outside. The condition is outstanding!

If you look in the bags he has kept all service books, owners manuals and has 5 spare sets of keys. In 2020 he spent $2,099 on parts/service/maintenance charges! I have the receipts to prove this.

All in all if you are looking for one of these bikes you may want to give this one some thought, you will not be disappointed!
