On November 1, 1944, troops of the British Fourth Commando, including British and French soldiers, landed on Walcheren. Now, in 1952, the Minister of War, ir. C. Staf, unveils a monument made by Titus Leeser in memory of the fallen on the same spot. Also present are many former combatants of the command and their former commander, General Leicester. Historical archive material has been edited in this newsreel.
