well would you look at that, a proper video after a month of none. life has been busy for sure.
backstory: I replaced the steering sector on my mower a while ago, but when I put it back together, the pinion gear was aligned with the rack, but the particular orientation that I had put in on with caused it to not have the steering wheel in the "correct" orientation. so the steering wheel was a bit off when the wheels were straight, and it bugged me enough to fix it. this in reality took like 40 minutes.
after I was done with that I went to check the deck and make sure it was all good after putting it back on, and noticed how badly unlevel it was, on setting 3, which is presumably 3", the side with the side discharge was 3.5" off the ground, and the other was 2". so I had to adjust the 2 nuts on the thingy that attached to the height control arm to make one side higher up and one side lower, and now both blades are a 3" off the ground (the blades were also a bit odd, with one blade being lower or higher than the other, so I measured from the lowest of both blades, and it's not a perfect 3", it's 1-2 millimeters shy for external factors). which now should result in a better cut quality.
