First Community Fair to Save Adult Education, May 12, 2012, MacArthur Park, Los Angeles, California. A beautiful day in the park. Families, students, community gather in support of Adult Education in Los Angeles Unified School District. Crafts, reading circle, speakers and Zumba Class! Though still in negotiations, the School Board has scheduled the elimination of the entire Division of Adult and Career Education (DACE). DACE is part of a long proud tradition in California of Public Adult Education. For over one hundred years we've taught English to Adults (ESL), Basic Education, High School diploma and GED programs, high school drop-out recovery classes, Vocation Skills, Occupational Skills, Older Adults, Parent Education, Family Literacy, and Citizenship. Now, of all times, is Not the Time to Cut Adult Ed. For Better Jobs and Help for Children's Parents, watch the video and be inspired! We are The Future.
