Surah An-Naml, the twenty-seventh chapter of the Holy Quran, is a Makki Surah that highlights Allah’s absolute power, wisdom, and control over all creation. It presents remarkable stories of Prophet Musa (A.S.), Prophet Sulayman (A.S.), the Queen of Sheba, and Prophet Salih (A.S.), emphasizing miracles, divine authority, and the consequences of belief and disbelief. The Surah is named after the ant whose speech was understood by Prophet Sulayman (A.S.), symbolizing humility, awareness, and divine knowledge granted by Allah.
Reason of Revelation (Asbāb an-Nuzūl):
Surah An-Naml was revealed during a time when the disbelievers of Makkah denied the truth of revelation and mocked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Surah responded by presenting clear signs of Allah’s power and wisdom through the lives of earlier prophets and nations. It reassured believers that divine help comes to those who remain patient and faithful, while arrogance and denial ultimately lead to destruction.
Virtues & Importance:
• Demonstrates Allah’s power through miracles granted to His prophets.

• Warns against arrogance, pride, and rejection of truth.
• Encourages reflection on Allah’s signs in creation.
• Teaches humility, wisdom, and responsibility in leadership.
• Reinforces accountability and the reality of the Hereafter.
