A system of units is a set of related units that are used for calculations. The system includes base units, which represent base dimensions, and derived units, which represent products of powers of base dimensions. Some units exist in more than one system of units.

What are CGS and MKS system of units?
MKS System: In this system, distance is measured in metres, mass in kilograms and time in seconds. CGS System: In this system, distance is measured in centimetres, mass in grams and time in seconds.
What is CGS system called?
The French system of units is also known as the C.G.S. system. In this system, the unit of length is centimetre (cm), mass is grams (g) and of time is second (s).
