Hi everyone! A few weeks ago, we visited Grianán of Aileach, an ancient stone fort in Donegal that dates back to the 1st century AD. Built on the site of an even older Iron Age hillfort, it was once the royal seat of the Uí Néill kings. There's a fascinating legend about it being destroyed stone by stone in 1101, and later restored in the 1800s.
The 360° views from the top are absolutely stunning. Lough Swilly, Lough Foyle, Wild Atlantic Way, and the Donegal hills all in one sweep. The kids had a great time exploring the stone walls and hidden doorways. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
