Spring is normally the time to take basal cuttings from emerging perennials. Unfortunately we missed the boat with taking basal cuttings from this Agastache as it grew so quickly in the summerhouse where we have overwintered it.
In this video we show you how to take softwood cuttings of Agastache.
Agastache cuttings can be taken at any time during the growing season up to the end of September. Growing Agastache in colder parts of the UK and other countries means that we can often loose these in the winter cold and wet. Taking cuttings ensures we have more plants as back up just in case we get a very bad winter.
