0:00-2:47 My theory for the original tempo and pitch (Ab).
2:47-5:45 Corrected to record pitch and tempo (G).
Answers to common questions:
1. The tuning on the lead guitar is Ab Eb Ab Eb Ab C. MAJOR thanks to @sampopkin and @ManWithNoExpressionfor their genius work figuring this out.
2. The weird chord in the chorus is x-3-2-0-0-3 for the lead, an ordinary G in the rhythm.
2. I recorded the guitars and drums 6% faster than the album, then slowed them down to match the record tempo and pitch. Is this the actual original tempo? Nobody knows, but I think so. The tempo on the outtake on the "Revolver" remix is, in my opinion, absurdly fast. This feels right.
3. Effects: Aclam Dr. Robert pedal and some added distortion in Studio One.
4. Why did I use the Gretsch? John is pictured using his orange Gretsch 6120 in some contemporaneous sessions, including Paperback Writer. Could it have been the Casino? Sure!
