i can't tell whether this fits glados or the girl from death palette better and it hurts my animatic-obsessed brain.
oh and also?? this time the translation is by a REAL PERSON!! tackmyn y.! i tried to put the lyrics into deepl to avoid asking him if i could use his translation (social anxiety amirite) but they kinda sucked so i wound up checking his website for the policy and i saw i could use it as long as i give credit, which i always do, so yeah i'm fine lol

also wouldn't hurt to include his translation notes i guess:
1. I don’t know if this is worth noting, but 斜に構える (hasu/sha ni kamaeru) means both “to adopt a formal attitude” or “to adopt a cynical attitude” (the latter usage is originally a misuse, but is widely used nowadays)
2. Reminds me of an idiom 首の皮一枚で繋がる (kubi no kawa ichimai de tsunagaru; lit. one’s neck is connected only with one layer of the skin), which figuratively means “there’s still a glimmer of hope” or “one is saved by the skin of their teeth”
