Timna park | Israel video tour

With David Hyman, professional tour guide. Join us as we explore this desert wonder located in the southern part of Israel, 30 minutes north of Eilat. Timna Park holds many natural wonders and our tour focuses on the top four sites:
1. The ancient copper mines are the oldest in the world, dating back to the 5th millennia BCE to the chalcolithic period. These mines were carved in the soft white sandstone in search of the veins that carry copper ores. crawling through these mines and touching the copper veins is possible and rewarding.
2. The sandstone arches are natural phenomena created by the weathering of the pink sandstone, beautiful rock formations are visible all around Timna Park but our favorite is climbing into the arch and enjoying the breeze and the views under its shade. Truly stunning
3. Solomons pillars are the name given to three majestic vertical pillars that are made of red sandstone and create a narrow gorge with majestic sights.
4. The Egyptian shrine to the goddess Hathor is just below the Solomons pillars. The shrine was revealed complete and most interesting is the copper snake that was found In it, reminding us of the copper snake made by Moses and mentioned in the book of Numbers

When done touring, head to the Timna lake area where you can buy a snack and a souvenir. Around the lake are camping sites and plenty of fun activities for families, such as paddle boats and creating your own colored sand bottles.
