ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿ :
ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿ, ಬಲವಂಡಿಯ ಭಕ್ತ ಬಾಲ ಸೇಮಿತರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬದುಕಿಸುವಂತೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಳೋಳಿ ನಾಡಿನ ಕಾರ್ಣಿಕದ ಕಿರುಬಾಳು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ರಂಗಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಬೀಳಲೆಂಬಂತೆ ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. “ಇಷ್ಟು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಒಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ನೇಮ, ಒಂದು ನನಗೂ, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ನನ್ನ ಅರಸರಿಗೂ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಒಂದು ನೇಮ ಬಾಳೋಲಿ ನಾಡ ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಹೋಗುವವನಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ, ಬರುವವನಿಗೆ ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನ. ನ್ಯಾಯ ತೀರ್ಮಾನದ ಸರ್ವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿಗೆ. ನಾವು ಮೂವರು ಒಂದು ಕತ್ತರಿ ಮಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಮೂವೆರುಳ್ಳಾಕ್ಲು’ ಆಗಿ ಮೆರೆಯೋಣ” ಎಂದಾಗ ಅರೆಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದೈವ ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿ ಬಾಲ ಸೇಮಿತರನ್ನು ಬದುಕಿಸಿ ಕಿರುವಾಳು (ಸಣ್ಣಕತ್ತಿ) ತಂದು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮರಂಗಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕುತ್ತದೆ.

ವಾಗ್ದಾನ :
ಇಂದಿಗೂ ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿ ದೈವ ಕಿರುವಾಳು ಹಿಡಿದು ಪೂರ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮರಿಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಮಲಗಿ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡುವುದಿದೆ. ಈ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳತನ, ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ನಡೆದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿಟ್ಟು ದೈವ ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಚಾಮುಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಬೆರೆಸಿದವನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಆರಿಸಿದವನನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂದು ಕಿರುವಾಳು ಇಳಿಸಿದರೆ, ಸುಣ್ಣದ ಬೊಟ್ಟಿನಷ್ಟು ಖಡಾಖಂಡಿತ ಸ್ಪುಟವಾಗಿ ವಾಕ್ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.

When Bala semitha, a devotee of Balavandi was killed by Vygrachamundi, Balavandi requests her to restore Semitha. Balavandi continued to say, “The people (devotees) have agreed to offer two Nemotsava (festivals) in one night, one for Arasu Daiva and another for me. The next night, you alone will have a nemotsava (festival) and will have the power to implement justice. Let the three of us as “Mooveru Ullaklu” occupy one Kattheri Mancha (ಕತ್ತರಿ ಮಂಚ, ಪೀಠ) and prosper”. Hearing this, immediately Vyagrachamundi brought Semitha back to life and threw the sacred small sword to the ground.

Holding the small sword and facing the east and lying on the ground and keeping Brahma behind her, Vyagrachamundi made promises to protect the congregation of devotees who shed tears of suffering because of theft, molestation and injustice. Such promises are kept even
today.
