Lichen sclerosus affects around 1 in every 100 women in the UK, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood female health conditions.
It can cause discomfort, scarring and thinning of the skin. While there is currently no cure, lichen sclerosus can be managed with the right diagnosis and treatment.
In this expert interview, Dr Rosalind Simpson explains what lichen sclerosus is, why it is so often misunderstood, and how her research is focused on improving treatment and outcomes for women living with the condition.
