Dean entered The X Factor (British series 14) as part of the Over 28s category who were mentored by Nicole Scherzinger. Before being eliminated at Judges' Houses, she was chosen as the wildcard by the public who reached the live final shows.
In 2020, she formed a band consisting of all female musicians called Kings Daughters, whose first hit, "Get Up", was a collaboration with Brian May and hit #13 in the iTunes charts
She then went solo in 2021, releasing her first blues number and third single, "The Devil I Know", which reached #1 in the UK blues charts and #6 in the US blues charts.
In March 2021, she recorded the title track for the film Nemesis (2021 film), which reached #1 in the iTunes soundtrack chart.[citation needed]
Dean attended Heston Community School and the Sylvia Young Theatre School on weekends before going on to study performing arts at West Thames College.
She worked as a VIP escort at Heathrow Airport looking after high profile passengers where she met Queen (band) guitarist Brian May, who went on to produce her music.
Dean was diagnosed with a condition called axial spondyloarthritis in 2019, which gave her irreversible spinal damage that cut her dancing career short after being undiagnosed for 15 years, and she now campaigns with the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS) for faster diagnosis times.
