The Barmah-Millewa Forest is one of six national icon sites on the Murray River. The Murray Darling Basin Authority’s ‘The Living Murray’ program funds National Parks and Wildlife Service (NSW) and Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (VIC) to monitor forested wetlands, located in Murray Valley National Park (NSW) and Barmah National Park (VIC), for their response to the watering regime provided by river operators. Frogs are one of the animals monitored. This video shows how this is done and some of the species being recorded. It highlights the importance of environmental water in keeping the forest and its wetlands healthy.
