40 year since the 3rd single from the mega hit 'Diana' was issued in Australia and became a moderate hit but a bigger success in Britain, but curiously a no show on the American charts. After the #1 smash 'Upside Down' and the Top 10 'I'm Coming Out' - perhaps 'My Old Piano' was too laid back or conventional to gain traction in her homeland for the iconic singer. I loved the song immediately and it was one of (if not the greatest) period of the solo career for Diana. Other than the 1980 release; her duet with Lionel Richie 'Endless Love'; another soundtrack single 'It's My Turn' then the follow up LP 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love' kept Ms Ross high on the charts consistently for 2 years. She would continue to record and hit the charts ' with songs like 'Muscles', 'All Of You' with Julio Iglesias, and the Bee Gees produced 'Chain Reaction' which was huge hit here in Oz, but again a no show on the American charts. An odd disconnect for the former Supreme.
