Lithium batteries are widely used in day to day application and it is a popular choice for portable devices due to their higher energy density compared to other battery technologies such as lead acid & Ni-MH. That is you get more power for a lesser weight & size.
Now despite this lovely advantage, Lithium battery comes with a dark side too. After all it is a package deal. You cannot get the good without bad.
Lithium is a highly reactive metal, That is if you mess with it, it will bite you.
When exposed, lithium will ignite and will give you a nice fire work.
That is why, there are lot of protection systems are designed and built just for lithium batteries. Lithium batteries can get dangerous if they are over charged, over discharged, heated or cut......
