Cardinal Robert McElroy, whom Pope Francis named on January 6, 2025, to succeed Cardinal Wilton Gregory as the Eighth Archbishop of Washington, was Installed during a Mass on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., USA. Dozens of Cardinals and Bishops, hundreds of Priests, and thousands of friends, family members, and representatives of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington’s parishes, schools and ministries attended to welcome Cardinal McElroy!
