Visiting the GRAVE of Edith Head FAMED Old HOLLYWOOD Costume Designer + HORROR Icon Dwight Frye

Come along as we pay respects to one of the greatest costume designers of the Old Hollywood Era - Edith Head. She worked in costume design for over 50 years and designed/worked on over 1,000 projects. She also holds the record as the most-awarded woman in the Academy Awards history winning 8 total awards. She was born in CA and started her career as a language teacher after studying at Berkeley and Stanford. She landed her first designing gig in 1924 after borrowing some sketches from classmates to help build her portfolio for the sketch artist position at Paramount Studios and the rest is history!

She was born on October 28, 1897, and died on October 24, 1981. She is buried at Forrest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale CA

She worked on many of my favorite films and created many of my favorite dresses it's hard to list just one! But for sure the work she did with Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday is at the top, as well as everything Grace Kelly wears in To Catch a Thief and Rear Window. She also designed for Double Indemnity, Sunset Blvd, A Place in the Sun, and many many more.


We also visit the grave of Horror Icon Dwight Frye, best known for his role as Reinfield in the 1931 film Dracula starring Bela Lugosi. He was born on February 22, 1899 and passed away on November 7, 1943. He started his career in the theatre doing mostly comedic plays, and later found himself being typecast as the wild eye villain in several Universal's Classic monster movies. His other credits include Frankenstein, The Maltese Falcon, The Invisible Man, and The Vampire Bat to name a few!
