The 1981 FREEZER BOWL | The COLDEST Game in NFL History

The 1981 AFC Championship between the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Diego Chargers was known as THE FREEZER BOWL. It is arguably the COLDEST NFL GAME EVER PLAYED. While the 1967 Ice Bowl between the Packers and Cowboys had an air temperature of -13 degrees, the Freezer Bowl's wind chill neared -60 degrees.
