Another PB ... this one a 25-inch redfish caught on a chartreuse foam "gurgler" fly in a lagoon tucked away near Chassahowitzka Bay. I thought it was a snook at first because the take was so clean. Usually redfish have an awkward take on a topwater fly and miss once or twice before getting hooked. Their mouth just isn't designed for surface feeding. This fish grabbed it very cleanly. I was fishing with the setting sun in my eyes and so generally unable to see individual fish even though the water’s only a foot to two feet max.. In that situation I target specific points and cast to swirls, tails, fleeing bait, and other signs of fish.
