Written in G minor and filled with challenging rhythms and enticing harmonies, this exhilarating, bold new piece for intermediate string orchestra offers first violins the option to briefly visit third position while encouraging basses to play almost entirely in half position. All sections of the Orchestra are provided with melodic material in this blazingly aggressive composition. Featuring an extended pizzicato section in the middle (a pensive theme atop arpeggios), the tempo never lets up, and neither does the energy needed to keep the flames alive this fast, fun, and fiery piece.
