Caer Caradoc (459.5 m) is my personal favorite Shropshire Hill. I wish it was the highest... but it's not, it is 8th on the list. Rugged, rocky (in places) and full of character. It even has a (small) cave and overlooks many other neighboring hills and also the pretty town of Church Stretton. And nearby , in the village of Cardington, is a truly lovely little pub... 'The Royal Oak'. If you haven't been there, you MUST. Stephen, the Landlord, is a gentle giant who knows how to look after his beer and serves excellent food too! Watch out for his fluffy cat.
