Supporting teachers new to the profession
Research shows that brand new teachers are more likely to be more effective in the classroom and more likely to stay in the profession if they get support during the first two years of teaching. Lake Washington’s New Teacher Support Program gives new teachers additional training before school starts and a dedicated consulting teacher who helps them along the way. This year, new teachers began with the Educator Introduction Academy on August 13. They have been working since to prepare for that first day with students in their classroom.
