I have constructed several transmitting magnetic loop antennas for the HF bands. In this design I decided to install a modified digital vernier caliper in the setup. This measures the movement in millimetres of the sliding capacitor plate.
To achieve resonance on each band, a parallel fixed capacitor is installed and the indicated measurement on the display will be the resonant point required. The chart on this DC Motor shows the exact positions in millimetres for each band. In this case, there will be no need to use my MFJ Antenna Analyser to determine the resonant position of the desired frequency.
Using this portable loop antenna I have worked stations from various parts of Europe, Africa and even USA. I know it is hard to believe but these loops can give surprisingly good performance when they are carefully designed and constructed.
