Join second-year MFA student, Emily Dotson, as she takes us through the day of an MFA student and scenic designer, preparing for the newest UBC theatre production: Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again, by Alice Birch, directed by Sloan Thompson.
Emily started as a fine artist studying in Cleveland, Ohio and Paris, France where she went on to become an award-winning painter and printmaker before turning to the world of set design. She began her set design studies at Cleveland State University graduating with a B.A. in Theater Arts before coming to Vancouver to pursue her masters.
Her most notable theatre production projects include Matilda (Production Designer), Coriolanus (Set Designer), and Waiting for Godot (Set Designer). As well, she is involved in the film scene in Vancouver, having won the Best Production Designer award at the POV Film Festival.
