Join us as we continue our Bolivian adventure! After exploring the Uyuni Salt Flats, we ventured deeper into the Altiplano to discover breathtaking lagoons, surreal rock formations, and incredible wildlife.
📍 Day 2 Highlights
🚙 Rough roads & high altitudes – Driving through Bolivia’s rugged landscapes at over 4,200m!
🌋 Volcano Ollague Viewpoint – Strong winds led us to shelter, where we were surprised by llama sausage (and yes, we tried it!).
🌿 Yareta Plant – A bizarre moss-like plant that’s over 3,000 years old!
🦩 Laguna Cañapa & Laguna Hedionda – Flamingo-filled lakes, one of them with a not-so-great sulfur smell.
🐰 Roca de Viscachas – We spotted viscachas, adorable rabbit-like creatures hopping on the rocks.
🪨 Stone Tree – A wind-sculpted rock formation that looks like a tree.
🦙 Laguna Colorada – A red lagoon, thousands of flamingos, and even some wandering llamas.
📍 Day 3 Highlights
🌅 Sunrise at Sol de Mañana – A geothermal field with boiling mud pots, steaming geysers & freezing temps.
♨️ Aguas Termales Chalviri – A natural hot spring (we skipped due to altitude sickness!).
🦙 Wild Vicuñas – The shy cousins of llamas with super soft fur.
🍽️ Mallku Cueva – We had lunch at this beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by rocky hills.
🏞 Laguna Negra – Our final stop, a hidden gem surrounded by cliffs and perfect reflections.
