Midbrain external anatomy

After completion of this video session, it is expected that you will be able to:

Describe the gross appearance of the midbrain: corpora quadrigemina, superior brachium, inferior brachium, tectum, interpeduncular fossa, basis pedunculi (crus cerebri), posterior perforated substance, cereral peduncle, substantia nigra, red nucleus, cerebral aquiduct.

Identify the sites of emergence of cranial nerves in relation to the above-mentioned landmarks.
